I Finally Finished A Challenge!

My 31 Days of Blogging Challenge

/

I learned about the 31 day challenge because of my bloggy buddy Sarah Duggan. I really hesitant at first because I never thought that I can finish the challenge. I am just a beginner blogger. I don't have that much experience in this kind of challenges. But I faced my fear and took the challenge.

The benefits I reaped with the 31-day blogging challenge are;

  • I got accepted on Adsense because I have written enough contents. I was so thankful to Sarah.
  • I gained crochet bloggy friends like Rhondda Mol, and Sarah they love to leave comments in every post I make. Thank you Ladies I really appreciate it. Even though we are thousand of miles away I still feel the love and kindness you give to me.
  • I faced my fear. I am notorious of not finishing things. I am afraid to fail to finish this challenge, as you can see I finished it!
  • I also started to sell amigurumis locally. I am earning enough to buy crochet supplies.
This challenge made me feel more confident that I can be a better crocheter and a better blogger. I am making another challenge for myself,
  • To make a crochet video tutorial
  • To make a pattern that is profitable.
  • To be featured on a crochet magazine
I am not giving a deadline to my challenge but I have the confidence to finish this challenges.

This is my last post for July. Starting in August I am participating in Sara Duggan's  Blog Tour!

Guest Post-Secret Obssesion

Hi I am Jei Crochet from Cavite, Philippines A wife, Mommy to 2 boys, a girl and 2 doggies. I am the author of Cutey Patuty Crochet.  I've been blogging for almost 4 months now. My love of crocheting inspired me to start to blog. I used to watch and read other crochet blogs, I said to my self  "hey! I can make these things!" So I started to teach myself more about crocheting and share things I learned to my readers. My blog name used to be Jeijam crochet, but changed it to Cutey Patuty when my children was watching cartoon and one character said cutey patuty, I said to myself it sounds cute and catchy, so I started using Cutey Patuty Crochet. I picture my blog to have it's own domain name, earning money enough to support our needs, and will be featured on TV! (I wish!), and my blog helped newbie crocheters and bloggers to achieve their goals.

You know I love watching Be Careful With My Heart ( a local telenovela here in the Philippines) and I love the lead actress Jody Sta. Maria. Because her portrayal of a nanny that is really eager to achieve her dreams for her family and people around her makes me think that it is possible for me to achieve my dreams. And Jodie really plays her role very well. When I would be given a chance to ask Jodie Sta. Maria 3 questions that will be;

1. What is your favorite bonding time with your son?
2. How do you deal with negative persons around you?
3. What is your advice to all single mothers out there?

If you ask me I am happy with my life right now. With my kids beside me and my husband who is miles away from me but still makes time to skype with us. We should know that true happiness is this harmonious fitting together of parts. Joy is the feeling we get when things fit together well. It is deep inside our soul! If we dig inside we can set it free so we can be joyful. Real happiness is a state of mind that exist regardless of your surroundings. It is both spiritual and mental thing.

My biggest pet peeve are:

1. When they keep asking me if I am pregnant
2. When people tell me that my husband looks younger than me (he's 12 years older than me!)
3. Loud voices annoys me a lot!
4. I hate ants!

If I am given a time machine and I could go back and live in different century, I would go back in the 20th century around the time of 1900's and maybe invent something useful like an electric bike so that Henry Ford will not invent gas powered cars, No more pollution!

Thank you Mary for giving me a chance to guest post here on your lovely blog.

Guest Post On Crochet addict

This is my guest post n Crochet Addict. And now is the time for me to share this with you ;)

I would like to thank Susan for giving me this great opportunity to write my very first guest post.

A Short Story About Me

I am Jei Crochet and I am a proud mother and a wife. I love to crochet. I started designing my own crochet patterns last March 2013, and it’s my Kawaii Coin Purse Easter Bunny. I tried to sell my patterns but it’s been 4 months still no sale. So I decided to share my patterns for free for now and I will sell some of them eventually. I love to share patterns of small crochet projects like purses, amigurumis so that I can help beginners and people who doesn’t have time to make big projects.

Crocheting changed my life. I used to be depressed. But the rhythmic movement of my hand and hook made me calm and helped me concentrate. I still have bouts of depression but crocheting helped keep my depression at bay.

I would like to share to you ladies a very simple pattern that I’ve designed. It is a Basic baby beanie. An easy pattern that only requires a few hours of your time.

You will need:

4-ply worsted weight yarn ( in pink and in lavender )

Size H hook

Yarn needle

Here is The Pattern:

Make a magic ring.

Round 1: Make 10 sc in the magic ring. Close the magic ring. (10sts)

Round 2: 2 sc in each sc. (20 sts)

Round 3: (1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc) Repeat 10x (30 sts)

Round 4: (1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) Repeat 10x (40 sts)

Round 5: (1 sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) Repeat 10x (50 sts)

Round 6: (1 sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) Repeat 10x (60 sts)

Round 7: (1 sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) Repeat 10x (70 sts)

Round 8: 1 sc around. (70 sts)

Round 9-16: Same as round 8 (70 sts) Fasten off.

I still consider myself as a beginner. Because every time I visit a crochet blog I see a new stitch and new technique that I still need to learn to make. For me every crocheters are considered a beginner, Because there are more stitches needed to be learned and new stitches to be discovered.

You can follow me on Bloglovin, Facebook, Twitter, and in Pinterest. Thank you for reading and have a blessed day.
